Firstly, allow me to apologize for not being consistent or even present with updates.
Saves the Day “Phase Two” is still going to happen. Starting January 1, 2015 and going forward weekly, every Wednesday, Saves the Day will be posted for your reading pleasure. Follow the crew of the demolished offices of Saves the Day as they recover from tragedy and find a way to rise again like a day-laboring phoenix of mediocrity. Stay tuned here for details.
Also, the free collection of previous Saves the Day material will be available in PDF format and in print (upon request) as of January 1, along with the start of “Phase Two.” So, look for that as well.
My home printing setup, upon which I was relying for everything regarding the Free Comic Book Day book and my upcoming new series, just failed me. My Epson Workforce 7510 is refusing to print black, and Epson refuses to help because I chose to use a recycled cartridge.
I’ve run through a gauntlet of troubleshooting steps. Nothing’s working.
I am deeply sorry for not being able to provide a book for Free Comic Book Day. When things are repaired and functioning correctly I will have this book available for free (even free shipping) to whomever wishes to have one.
Thank you for understanding. I hope that you have an amazing Free Comic Book Day!
So, I’ll have a book out for Free Comic Book Day. Instead of my new project, I’m printing the entire Phase 1 run of Saves the Day in comic book format with a short retrospective for new readers. My collaborator abandoned the new project, so it was too difficult for me to complete it in time for the FCBD event.
If you’re interested in owning a printed copy of all of Saves the Day Phase 1, I’ll be at Apparitions Comics and Books in Grand Rapids, MI for Free Comic Book Day. I’ll have a limited number of copies available, along with some prints and promos for the new book - which I will be creating solo and releasing later this month.
I hope to see you there. If you can’t make it, email me at email@example.com and I’ll be able to send you a copy.
Have a great Free Comic Book Day, folks!
Sometimes the thing we need most is encouragement, and sometimes that encouragement is most effective when it comes through collaboration. I am teaming up with my friend, Michael “Morpheus” Finley, to create a 20-page comic book, due out on Free Comic Book Day 2014. While this won’t be available online, we will be teasing and promoting it through my publishing Tumblr, Living Room Publishing (http://livingroompublishing.tumblr.com/).
After that book sees the light of day - and after we’ve wrapped the promotional period for the book - I’m going to be able to commit to stories for Komik Traume. They won’t be weekly stories (because my current work schedule won’t allow for that kind of regular creative work), but I will be releasing complete stories when I finish them. So, no more one-page-at-a-time crap. You’re going to get full stories all in one shot. The load shall be blown post-May 2014. Catch it!
See you folks around.
I’m sure we can all agree that work and life are heavy things. Lately both have been keeping me down. It’s been difficult to finish projects I’ve been working on and for which I have been planning. It feels like I’m getting stuck in an ugly rut, and the resulting stress from all of this is so incredibly suffocating that I feel like I’m becoming slightly unhinged. Definitely a time for the bellowing of “Argh” and such angry noises.
So, regarding the future postings on this Tumblr account, I can say with complete certainty that comics will be coming, but the release of new material will be infrequent at best. I’m sorry if this angers you, dear readers. I hope that you’ll understand and keep checking back. I will update you as soon as I’m ready to post something new.
Thanks for reading this and for being understanding.
Phase 2 is GO!
Every other week going forward you will be able to read new Phase 2 Saves the Day, right here on Komik Träume!
Saves the Day Revisit #14 - Phase 1 concludes. Tomorrow we’ll jump into a color, hi-fi, super-vision intro strip for Phase 2. Stay tuned!
Today was a day of ceiling leakage (again!) and constant running around. I am not able to post today’s Saves the Day Revisit, but tomorrow you’ll get a double dose to make up for it.
I’m sorry about this!
